It is no surprise that someone, who is twisted up themselves, looks at a perfect God and perceives a twisted painful image. To such a person, God’s perfection would be difficult to comprehend and would also serve as painful reminder their own condition.
In the same way that David mourned for his rebellious son, so God mourns for His rebellious creation.
Father, help us to put away our pride. Help us to humble ourselves in our own hearts, so that we do not fall into temptation in this way. Instead, help us to trust in your provision, and act as your spirit moves us to love others, our enemies and neighbors, as you have called us to. Help us to search out our own hearts and reveal to us the places where we need growth and forgiveness. We need truths that stir us to love, repentance and faith, not comforting lies that boost our egos. I pray that you would guide us as we humbly seek out Your truth, Your spirit and Your way.

Something we're trained to do as missionaries is to listen. Listen. Observe. Ask questions. And listen some more.
God used a pandemic to close our doors, but that does not mean that the mission of the church has changed, instead a new place has been prepared for us. A place for us, as a church, to go out and seek and save the lost.
